A group of people staged a demonstration at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) detention centre to welcome the arrival of former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah. The demonstrators, acting on behalf of the People’s United Coalition, expressed support for Febrie’s detention in a corruption case. “There are so many reasons to defend Febrie Adriansyah, yet he has brought shame,” one orator declared during the action.

Reports had circulated from internal KPK sources that Febrie would be detained at the KPK detention centre. However, as of 11:00 PM Western Indonesian Time, Febrie had not been seen leaving the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) following his examination. The Attorney General’s Office previously announced the formation of a special team of nine prosecutors to handle the case. This team, the majority of whom previously served at the KPK, conducted a second round of questioning with Febrie on Friday, 24 July 2026, regarding the corruption and money laundering charges that have named him a suspect. This examination was based on a new investigation warrant issued by the Attorney General’s Office on Monday, 20 July 2026, supplementing four previously issued investigation orders.
