Jakarta (ANTARA) – Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said the One Person, One Account programme could increase national financial inclusion to 99 per cent.

The target would be an increase from the 93.61 per cent financial inclusion rate recorded in 2026, according to the National Survey on Financial Literacy and Inclusion (SNLIK).

“We are preparing the One Person, One Account programme, which will bring our financial inclusion close to 99 per cent. So it will rise from 93 to 99 per cent,” Airlangga said at the National Coordination Meeting of the Regional Financial Access Acceleration Teams (TPAKD) in Jakarta on Thursday.

The One Person, One Account programme aims to expand public access to formal financial services, connecting more people to the national financial system.

The government plans to allocate Rp1.28 trillion to the programme, including to provide an initial deposit of Rp50,000 for each account.

Airlangga said it would target 25 million people aged 17 and over in deciles 1–4, or the lower-income groups.

“The data are currently being prepared by BRI and Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI),” he said.

The government is also seeking to strengthen financial inclusion through a range of other programmes. One is the One Account, One Student programme (KEJAR), which has 59.18 million participants and total savings of Rp27 trillion.

The programme aims to improve financial inclusion and literacy from an early age, enabling students to understand and manage their finances effectively.

The government is also expanding access to financing through the distribution of People’s Business Credit (KUR), lending for agriculture and labour-intensive industries, and housing programmes.

These efforts are being developed through several channels, including the Regional Financial Access Acceleration Teams (TPAKD).

Overall, the government has set a target of Rp300 trillion in lending this year. By 20 October 2026, disbursements had reached Rp257.84 trillion, benefiting four million borrowers.

The government is also widening access to finance for women in low-income households by reducing interest rates. Airlangga said President Prabowo had directed that annual interest rates for loans to this group be cut to 8 per cent.

“The latest direction from the President is to reduce interest rates for loans to women in low-income households from 18 to 25 per cent to a flat 8 per cent a year. This has already been implemented,” he said.
