Masked robbers in action

TANGERANG: Four masked robbers shot a man in his home early on Wednesday in the Paninggilan Permai housing complex, Parung Serab, Cileduk district.

The victim, Susanto, 44, an employee of state security printer Peruri, said the four robbers, who arrived on a Yamaha RX King and a Suzuki Satria motorcycle, broke into his house at about 3:30 a.m.

They only managed to get a cellular phone, and Rp 600,000 (US$70) in cash from Susanto's wallet, which was lying in the living room, before members of the family shouted to alert neighbors.

Tangerang Police detectives chief Adj. Comr. Asep Adi Saputra said there had been seven armed robberies in Cileduk district since April but no suspects had been arrested so far.--JP
