Masjid At-Taqwa Palmerah distributes 1,500 Eid al-Adha sacrificial meat packages
Masjid At-Taqwa in Kemanggisan, Palmerah, West Jakarta, distributed approximately 1,500 sacrificial meat packages to the community on Wednesday during Eid al-Adha 2026. The 1,500 meat packages were sourced from the slaughter of 16 cows and 26 goats. Masjid At-Taqwa’s Kurban Committee Chairman Syarifuddin Yahya stated that the entire kurban process was managed directly by the mosque’s internal committee. ‘We distributed 1,500 packages to the community. Specifically for Masjid At-Taqwa, the kurban committee handles the organisation,’ Syarifuddin said at Masjid At-Taqwa in West Jakarta on Wednesday. He noted the meat distribution extended beyond Kemanggisan residents to other areas, including Tanjung Duren. ‘The distribution is conducted through a zoning system, from ring 1 to ring 3, to ensure accurate targeting,’ Syarifuddin added. He further revealed that most of the sacrificial animals came from majelis taklim contributions. ‘The majority came from majelis taklim, with 10 this year,’ Syarifuddin said. He urged that the animal slaughter process adhere to applicable regulations, both Islamic law and health and hygiene standards. ‘The slaughter site must follow the guidance of KPKP officials, as the process affects meat quality. If conducted in accordance with Islamic law and proper hygiene, Insha Allah, the meat will be of good quality,’ said Hasudungan. He also hoped all sacrificial meat slaughtered during Eid al-Adha and the days of Tasyrik would be properly utilised by the intended recipients. ‘We hope all sacrificed animals are consumed by those eligible. Additionally, the kurban meat must be safe, healthy, intact, and halal when consumed,’ Hasudungan added.
