Mashill's profit up
JAKARTA (JP): Publicly listed Bank Mashill announced a 31- percent increase in net profit in the first three quarters this year to Rp 23.83 billion (US$6.80 million) from Rp 18.10 billion in the same period last year.
The bank said in a statement yesterday that the current monetary crisis did not have a significant impact on the performance of the bank.
It said income from interest rose to Rp 77.91 billion as of September 1997, from Rp 56.31 billion in the same period last year.
The statement said Bank Mashill, which had total assets of Rp 1.81 trillion as of September 1997, had Rp 1.30 trillion in September last year.
The bank plans to open five more branch offices by the end of this year in Roxy, Mangga Dua, Kebun Jeruk, Imperium Tower and the Ambassador building, all in Jakarta, as well as one at Puri Anjasmoro in Semarang, Central Java.
Bank Mashill's president Tjipto Windoe said the new branches were expected to raise more public funds in the future.
As of September 1997, the bank had collected public funds worth Rp 1.28 trillion, up 20 percent from Rp 1.06 trillion in the same period last year. (aly)
