MAS to fly Japan's Okayama

TOKYO (DPA): Malaysia Airlines will begin regular flights to
Okayama airport in western Japan in April next year, Okayama
Governor Masahiro Ishii said on Friday.

Ishii told a news conference that he was told by Malaysia
Airlines executives when he made a recent visit to Malaysia that
the airline was considering extending its weekly Kuala Lumpur-
Fukuoka flight to Okayama from April next year. Fukuoka is in
southwestern Japan.

If the plan is realized, Kuala Lumpur will become the fourth
overseas destination from Okayama airport after Guam, Seoul and
Shanghai, prefectural government officials said.
