Muhammad Subchi Azal Tsani, known as Mas Bechi, the son of a cleric in Jombang who was convicted of raping a female student at an Islamic boarding school, was granted conditional release from 15 August 2026 for good behaviour. The Ministry of Immigration and Corrections has now revoked the release.

Fathorrosi, head of the Class I Malang Probation Office, confirmed that the conditional release of its client, Subchi, had been revoked. He said the office had received the revocation decree from the East Java Regional Office of the Directorate General of Corrections.

“We received the decree revoking the conditional release of our Malang Probation Office client, Subchi, through the East Java Regional Office of the Directorate General of Corrections on Tuesday, 6 October 2026,” Fathorrosi said when contacted, as quoted by detikJatim on Thursday, 8 October 2026.

Fathorrosi said the revocation decree had been delivered to Subchi when he was due to report to the Class I Malang Probation Office that day.

“Today, the person concerned, our client named Bechi, is required to report. The decree was also conveyed to the client in a persuasive manner,” he said.

However, detikJatim’s observation at the Class I Malang Probation Office found that Subchi had not appeared to report by around 14:16 on Thursday.
