Marwah WO Owner Pledges Compensation Within Six Months If Not Imprisoned

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The owner of Marwah Wedding Organizer (WO), suspected of defrauding dozens of brides-to-be, has pledged to seek compensation for victims within six months if not imprisoned. The statement was made during a meeting between victims and the alleged perpetrator at the East Jakarta Metropolitan Police headquarters. A video of the meeting was uploaded by the East Jakarta Metropolitan Police Chief’s personal TikTok account, @alfiannurrizal.id, as reported by Kompas.com on Sunday (31 May 2026). Victims demanded accountability for their losses. One victim stressed that the primary concern was the return of their rightful claims. ‘We demand accountability. That’s the main point,’ said a victim. In response, the woman suspected of being the Marwah WO owner presented her defence. ‘We want to explain our situation because we are also the victims,’ she said. Her statement provoked reactions from some victims present, but Alfian urged them to listen to further explanations. ‘Answer first. Answer first,’ Alfian said. ‘If I’m not jailed, I’ll work to compensate within six months. Insha’Allah. If Marwah goes bankrupt, I can build something else,’ she added. At the same time, Alfian explained why the police arranged the meeting between victims and the alleged perpetrator. ‘Everyone wants to know. If we didn’t arrange this meeting, people might think the police aren’t helping with assets, guarantees, accountability, and refunding money. That’s why I’m sharing this directly. This is our transparency,’ Alfian said.
