Marwah Wedding Organizer Owner Reneges on Agreements with Couples After Payment

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com — A married couple identified as ER and RMS, owners of Marwah Wedding Organizer (WO), offered wedding planning services through Marwah Catering Service and received payments from clients. However, after payments were made, the promised services were allegedly not delivered as per the initial agreement.

“The suspects offered wedding organizer services via Marwah Catering Service and accepted payments from prospective brides and grooms,” said East Jakarta Metropolitan Police Public Relations Officer Aipda I Gusti MP when contacted by KOMPAS.com on Sunday (31 May 2026). “However, after receiving payments, both suspects failed to fulfil their obligations as promised to clients.”

Police are currently investigating how the funds paid by victims were used by the suspects. “Regarding the use of victims’ funds, investigators are still probing through interrogations of both suspects,” he added.

ER and RMS were previously arrested by the East Jakarta Metropolitan Police’s Mobile Brigade (Resmob) Special Investigation Unit at a rented house in Batulayang Village, Cililin District, West Bandung Regency, West Java. They had gone missing when police attempted to locate their residence and moved between locations before being apprehended. However, police are still investigating whether the relocation was an attempt to evade capture.

They face charges of fraud under Article 492 of the Indonesian Criminal Code and/or embezzlement under Article 486.
