Marwah Wedding Organiser Vanishes Amid Fraud Allegations

JAKARTA - Alleged fraud involving Wedding Organiser Marwah has now entered the legal arena.

The business has been reported to police by a couple from Bekasi, with other victims and former staff coming forward with similar accounts.

East Jakarta Metropolitan Police Criminal Investigation Department Chief AKBP Bayu Kurniawan confirmed the force has received reports and is conducting an investigation.

“Victims just filed a police report yesterday afternoon. A report has been lodged, so we’re starting the investigation process. We plan to check their office in JGC first,” Bayu stated via WhatsApp on Monday (25 May 2026).

“The victims had fittings at their JGC office. We need to verify if the office even exists there,” he added.

Police have also requested clarifications from relevant parties regarding the alleged case.

Unpaid Salaries for Months

Meanwhile, internal company issues have surfaced.

Former Marwah Wedding Organiser (WO) Catering Service employee Iman claims he has not received wages for months despite handling numerous events.

“Almost seven to eight months. No salary, many others haven’t been paid either,” he said in East Jakarta on Monday (25 May 2026).

“The decoration fees and monthly salaries are different,” he added.

He also noted that staff numbers have dropped from around 70 to just three.

On-site observations show Marwah WO’s office at Jakarta Garden City (JGC), East Cakung, is no longer operational.
