Marwah Wedding Organiser Owner in East Jakarta Revealed as Repeat Offender

The escape of the couple owning Marwah Wedding Organiser ended with their arrest by the East Jakarta Metro Police’s Criminal Investigation Unit. Police revealed a shocking fact: one suspect, ER (the wife), is a repeat offender in a similar fraud case in West Java.

East Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit Chief, AKP Bayu Kurniawan, explained that ER’s status as a repeat offender was uncovered after thorough investigations following their arrest. ER and her husband, RM, are suspected of running Marwah Wedding Organiser to profit from dozens of prospective couples.

“Based on our investigations, the suspect known as ER is a repeat offender for similar criminal acts in West Java,” Bayu stated at the East Jakarta Metro Police headquarters on Monday, 1 June.

After the case went viral on social media and drew public attention, both suspects attempted to cover their tracks. Police successfully located them in a rental house in Cililin, West Bandung Regency.

The arrests took place on Friday, 29 May 2026. Bayu denied claims that the suspects planned to flee abroad, as no supporting evidence has been found for the report.

“They tried to hide after the media coverage, but our team successfully identified their hiding place,” he added.

Preliminary police records indicate a significant number of victims and total losses caused by the couple’s fraudulent activities. The modus operandi involved offering attractive wedding packages, but services promised were never delivered after victims paid. Police confirmed the suspects are limited to the couple, with no involvement from others.

They face multiple charges for fraud and embezzlement, with a maximum prison sentence of four years. Police are still accepting complaints from other victims of Marwah Wedding Organiser, as the number of affected individuals may increase. (Ant/Z-1)
