Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia’s 13th term, Ma’ruf Amin, is scheduled to become the imam during the Eid al-Fitr prayers at Fatahillah Mosque, Jakarta City Hall, on Saturday (21/3).

This certainty was revealed by Jakarta Deputy Governor Rano Karno. Rano stated that the Eid prayers at City Hall will be attended by several officials and community figures. He mentioned that Ma’ruf Amin’s presence as imam will be a special moment for the congregation performing prayers at the location.

“The imam will be Mr Ma’ruf Amin,” said Rano, quoted from detik, Friday (20/3).

Meanwhile, Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung is scheduled to perform Eid al-Fitr prayers at Istiqlal Mosque, Central Jakarta.

The Jakarta Provincial Government also plans to hold an open house or halalbihalal at City Hall at 11:00 WIB after the Eid prayers.

“Tomorrow, even if there is an open house, it’s planned for 11 in the morning. So if ladies and gentlemen want to stop by City Hall, we’ll open the doors at 11 in the morning,” said Pramono.

Meanwhile, for the takbiran night on Friday (20/3), the Jakarta Provincial Government is scheduled to hold the ‘Jakarta Grand Drum Night for Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah’ event at Bundaran HI starting at 20:00 WIB until completion in the Bundaran HI area.

The series of activities will be filled with a takbiran night torch parade that takes the route from the Southwest Gate of Monas Intersection to Bundaran Bank Indonesia, passing through Jalan MH Thamrin, and ending at Bundaran Hotel Indonesia (HI).
