Maros strives to maintain agricultural productivity amid shrinking paddy fields

The Maros Regency Agriculture and Food Security Service records a reduction of around 1,700 hectares in the area of productive paddy fields in its region due to land conversion for housing, industry, and government strategic projects. Addressing this challenge, the Head of the Facilities and Infrastructure Division of the Maros Agriculture and Food Security Service, Samsul Bahri, stated that his team is continuously working to maintain productivity by increasing the cropping index from one to three plantings per year.
