Marketplaces Want to Raise Fees for SMEs? Minister Maman Shows His Teeth!

The government prohibits marketplaces from raising fees or commissions unilaterally to small and medium enterprise (SME) actors. Minister of SMEs Maman Abdurrahman emphasised that there must be no fee increases in the near future without discussion and approval. If there is a fee adjustment, the platform is obliged to conduct socialisation to SME actors at least 2 to 3 months before implementation. The government is also preparing regulations to strengthen SME protection in the digital ecosystem.
