Market Increasingly Selective, Mirae Asset Sekuritas Strengthens Wealth Management Services
PT Mirae Asset Sekuritas Indonesia sees room for domestic market strengthening in the second half of 2026, as external pressures on Indonesia begin to ease. The weakening of the US dollar and the strengthening of the rupiah provide better room for authorities to maintain stability while supporting domestic economic growth. However, investors still need to pay close attention to various trade-offs, particularly regarding inflation, exchange rate stability, fiscal credibility, and the quality of economic growth and corporate earnings.
Head of Research & Chief Economist at PT Mirae Asset Sekuritas Indonesia, Rully Arya Wisnubroto, assesses that investor attention is gradually shifting from global risks towards domestic factors, as external pressures ease. This condition makes the quality of growth and consistency of domestic policy increasingly important in determining market direction.
“Room for domestic market strengthening remains open, but with a more balanced risk profile. Investor attention will increasingly shift towards the quality of growth and consistency of domestic policy, including fiscal realisation, inflation developments, and the effectiveness of liquidity transmission to productive sectors. Therefore, maintaining a balance between growth, inflation, fiscal credibility, and exchange rate stability is becoming increasingly important,” said Rully in his statement on Wednesday (19/8/2026).
From another perspective, the banking sector is one area that needs to be watched closely. Research Analyst at PT Mirae Asset Sekuritas Indonesia, Muhammad Nurkholis Syafruddin, assesses that tight liquidity conditions, strong credit growth, and changes in reserve requirement policy are beginning to shape a new landscape in the banking industry. These conditions create different opportunities and challenges for each bank.
“Although there is SAL deployment of Rp451 trillion, banking liquidity is expected to remain tight amid strong credit growth,” said Nurkholis.
According to him, changes to reserve requirement regulations that will take effect from September 2026 also have the potential to have different impacts on each bank. With different liquidity conditions and capital characteristics, banks need to be viewed more selectively to see which banks have better room for growth amid changing industry conditions.
Amid increasingly dynamic and selective market conditions, investor needs also continue to evolve. Investors not only need access to various investment products, but also an approach that can help manage assets according to long-term financial needs and goals.
Responding to these developments, Mirae Asset Sekuritas is introducing a Wealth Management transformation as part of the company’s new business journey. The growth of the middle class and mass affluent segment is opening up greater market opportunities, along with the increasing need for people to manage finances, invest, and grow assets in a more focused manner.
Director of PT Mirae Asset Sekuritas Indonesia, Tomi Taufan, said this transformation is being carried out to respond to the increasingly diverse needs of clients. According to him, asset management is no longer sufficient by merely offering various investment products, but needs to start from understanding the needs and goals of each client.
“Wealth Management is no longer just about what products are available, but starts from understanding client needs, then presenting suitable solutions. Therefore, we are encouraging a shift from a product-centric to a client-centric approach,” said Tomi.
Through this approach, Mirae Asset Sekuritas can tailor solutions based on client needs, ranging from liquidity needs, income, asset growth, protection, diversification, to financial planning and global investment. This approach enables clients to obtain a more comprehensive strategy, in line with their financial needs and goals.
This transformation is supported by five main pillars: Service, Product, Access, Global, and Technology. These five pillars encompass more personalised services, a diverse range of investment product choices, as well as broader access through M-STOCK and 29 Mirae Asset Sekuritas Education Offices across various regions of Indonesia. Clients can also gain access to Mirae Asset’s global investment ecosystem as well as technology support to help monitor portfolios and develop investment strategies in line with financial goals.
“Through this Wealth Management transformation, we want to build long-term relationships with clients, to provide services and solutions that suit their needs. With the support of a national network, global ecosystem, diverse products, and technology, we want to help clients manage and grow their assets in a more focused manner,” said Tomi.
