Market deserted in Bekasi

BEKASI (JP): While most markets are thronging with buyers
during the days leading up to the Moslem fasting month of
Ramadhan, Cibitung market in Bekasi has been deserted by both
traders and customers alike.

According to Bekasi Market Authority chief Donnie Setiawan,
this is because most of the traders there, who are from various
towns in West Java such as Purwakarta, Subang and Karawang, have
already left the market to fast in their hometowns.

Cibitung market chief Riswandi said that the pattern had been
the same for many years. (12/mas)
