Mark Your Calendars! Yogyakarta-Bawen Section 6 Toll Road Opens Free During Eid 2026 Exodus

Workers are completing road markings on the Yogyakarta-Bawen Section 6 toll road project in Bawen, Semarang Regency, Central Java. The Road Toll Regulatory Body (BPJT) under the Public Works Ministry will operationally open the 4.98-kilometre Yogyakarta-Bawen Section 6 toll road in Semarang Regency at no charge for Class I vehicles (non-buses) from 13-30 March 2026 to facilitate smooth traffic flow during the mudik (homecoming) and balik (return) journeys for Eid al-Fitr 1447 H. The toll section forms part of a National Strategic Project designed to ease congestion during Indonesia’s busiest travel periods around the Islamic holiday.
