Marjorie Taylor Greene Claims Trump Administration Discussing Nuclear Weapons Use Against Iran

Former United States Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has made the startling claim that President Donald Trump’s administration is discussing the use of nuclear weapons against Iran. The statement emerged amid Washington’s difficulties in maintaining momentum in a war that has been ongoing for months.

“They are discussing the use of nuclear weapons against Iran in strategy meetings,” Greene wrote on social media on Sunday evening local time. “I am not speculating. I know. And this is pure evil.”

Greene, previously known as one of Trump’s closest allies in Congress, is now urging Americans to oppose any efforts at war escalation. The relationship between the two is reported to have fractured after Greene pushed for the release of files related to Jeffrey Epstein, the late convicted paedophile whose social circle included Trump and other powerful figures.

Greene accused Washington of launching a war based on warnings continually promoted by Israel regarding Iran’s nuclear programme. According to her, US intelligence itself states that Iran is nowhere near producing nuclear weapons, yet a different narrative continues to be pushed.

“Trump and his administration were told by our own intelligence that Iran is nowhere near producing nuclear weapons, then Israel says the same line that has been repeated for decades, that ‘Iran is only weeks away’,” Greene said.

She also highlighted the contradiction between the government’s claims of victory and the reality on the ground, particularly regarding control of the Strait of Hormuz. Greene warned that further escalation could trigger a global nuclear holocaust, economic depression, and loss of life on a scale not seen for generations.

Greene’s intervention comes as the US military is reported to be struggling with dwindling weapons stockpiles. Meanwhile, NBC News reported this month that the Pentagon is developing a strategy that would give a greater role to short-range tactical nuclear weapons in regional conflicts.

A senior US defence official told NBC that Washington needs credible nuclear options. To date, the United States remains the only country ever to have used nuclear weapons in war, when it destroyed Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945.
