The Indonesian Navy’s Marine Corps has sharpened its personnel’s ability to operate combat vehicles by holding an amphibious driving exercise for the LVT 7 A1, Saturday (4/7). In an official press release received in Jakarta on Monday, it was explained that the training was carried out by Marine Corps I personnel at the Hartono Marine Base in Cilandak, South Jakarta. Head of Marine Corps Information, Colonel (Mar) Rana Karyana, confirmed to ANTARA in Jakarta that the exercise was held to ensure personnel can operate the primary weapon system according to standard procedures. Rana added that during the training, personnel received extensive material on operating the combat vehicle. “The entire series of activities was carried out by prioritising the safety of personnel and material,” he added. He said the entire exercise proceeded safely and smoothly. Through this training, Rana expressed hope that Marine personnel will be better prepared for deployment in missions using combat vehicles to maintain national security.
