Marines Honour Soldiers for Achievements in Operation Kasuari
The Indonesian Marine Corps (TNI AL) has awarded honours to soldiers of the RI-PNG Mobile Border Security Task Force, Marine Infantry Battalion 10, for their achievements during Operation Badai Kasuari in Papua. The awards were presented by Marine Corps Commandant Lieutenant General TNI (Mar) Endi Supardi at the parade ground of Marine Infantry Brigade 1, Hartono Marine Barracks, Cilandak, South Jakarta, on Friday (10/7). Head of the Marine Corps Information Service, Marine Colonel Rana Karyana, stated that during their deployment in Papua, the task force successfully carried out a series of operations against the West Papua National Liberation Army–Free Papua Organisation (TPNPB-OPM). “The Marine Corps succeeded in neutralising several TPNPB-OPM personnel and figures, encouraging several armed group members to return to the fold of the Motherland, seizing four main headquarters, destroying 15 sector headquarters, securing 56 safe houses, and confiscating various pieces of evidence including firearms, ammunition, communication devices, TPNPB-OPM attributes, and organisational documents,” Rana said. For these achievements, the Marine Corps Commandant granted awards including exceptional promotions, educational opportunities, and overseas assignments for the distinguished soldiers. “On the same occasion, the Marine Corps Commandant also presented an Award Certificate Number 70/VII/2026 as a form of appreciation for the soldiers’ success in Operation Badai Kasuari,” Rana added. He expressed hope that the awards would motivate all Marine Corps soldiers to continue enhancing their professionalism and to carry out their duties optimally in every operational assignment.
