Marines confirm Gunawan's order
JAKARTA: Naval Military Police Commander Brig. Gen. Soenarko AG disclosed on Thursday that four marines had admitted before investigators that Gunawan Santosa ordered them to assassinate computer firm PT Asaba president director Budyharto Angsono and his bodyguard Second. Sgt. Edi Siyep of the Army.
"The four soldiers admitted during the interrogation that they were ordered by Gunawan to kill Budyharto and his bodyguard. They did not disclose his motive, and we are currently questioning Gunawan to confirm their statement," Soenarko said.
"We expect to wrap up the interrogation within three days, so we can return him (Gunawan) to the police," he added.
The four marine soldiers, who were allegedly involved in the murder of Budyharto on July 19, are identified by their initials only: Second. Lt. SAS, Second Corp. SR, Second Corp. FH and First Pvt. SS. -- JP
