Marine Corps prepares a series of training materials for ASN reserve component participants
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Marine Corps is preparing various types of training materials, from weapons to national defence, to be given to participants in the reserve component (Komcad) training program from civil servants (ASN).
This will be provided by the Marine Corps after the Ministry of Defence (Kemhan) partnered with Pasmar I to train the first wave of ASN Komcad in April 2026.
Head of the Marine Corps’ Information Service, Colonel (Mar) Rana Karyana, told ANTARA in Jakarta on Friday that they had compiled several key points of material to be given to the ASN Komcad participants.
The materials include spiritual and ideological development, instilling values of national defence, developing a spirit of struggle, providing knowledge and skills, basic military regulations (foot drill, military salutes, military ceremonies, and military service regulations), legal knowledge, weapons knowledge, maritime skills, and knowledge of maritime defence areas.
Rana said that they had also prepared special Marine Corps-specific materials for the Komcad participants from the ASN.
Some of the special materials that will be provided include instilling high discipline and loyalty, building a never-give-up attitude and adaptability to pressure, basic survival skills, and field endurance, as well as knowledge of teamwork (esprit de corps).
Rana said that knowledge of teamwork is important to provide, even though the participants come from an ASN background.
“We also provide knowledge about instilling values of honour and responsibility as part of the state defence reserve component,” said Rana.
Not only the materials, Rana also ensured that all the best facilities, from fields, barracks, classrooms, and medical personnel belonging to the Marine Corps, will be deployed to support the Komcad training.
Although all the training concepts and facilities used are standard from the Marine Corps, Rana ensured that they will still adjust the training patterns for the ASN.
“There will be adjustments to the aspects of comfort and security, given that the participants come from the civilian sector,” said Rana.
Rana hopes that all the facilities and lessons that have been prepared by the Marine Corps can support the Komcad ASN training process so that it can run optimally.
Previously, the Ministry of Defence stated that 2,000 ASN who will participate in the training as Komcad will be trained at five TNI training locations.
“The implementation of the first wave of training is planned to take place at several educational locations, including Pusdikkes, Skadik 301, Pusbahasa AU, Kodam Jaya, and Pasmar 1,” said Head of the Defence Information Bureau (Karo Infohan) of the Ministry of Defence Secretariat, Brigadier General TNI Rico Ricardo Sirait, to ANTARA in Jakarta on Thursday (26/2).
Rico said that the ASN will be trained on the basics of military training, both in practice and in theory.
The training process for this wave will begin in April 2026 and will last for approximately 1.5 months.
Rico added that the Ministry of Defence provides a quota of 4,000 people for all ministries and agencies that want to send their ASN to participate in the Komcad training.
The first wave of training is planned for 2,000 ASN, and the second wave with the same number will be held in mid-2026.
