Marine Corps in Sebatik Marks Children's Day by Teaching in Schools

The Indonesian Marine Corps commemorated National Children’s Day 2026 by teaching at SMAN 1 Sebatik in Nunukan Regency, North Kalimantan, in an effort to strengthen the values of patriotism among the younger generation in the border area. During the activity, Marine personnel provided education on the importance of loving the homeland and practising the values of Pancasila in daily life. “The hope is that every child grows up in a healthy, safe, and comfortable environment and becomes a child who loves their homeland,” said Commander of the Marine Security Task Force XXX, Captain Ahmad Rizwan, in Sebatik on Thursday. Acting as a teacher, Ahmad Rizwan also conveyed the importance of ‘loving the rupiah’ as a manifestation of love for the nation, including using and appreciating the rupiah currency in daily transactions. “We convey the importance of loving the homeland, one form of which is expressed through loving the rupiah in everyday transactions,” he said. According to him, instilling national values from school age is a crucial step in shaping the character of the nation’s next generation, especially for children living in border areas. This teaching activity was part of a series of National Children’s Day commemorations aimed at strengthening national character while increasing concern for children’s education in border regions. In 2026, National Children’s Day carries the main theme ‘Love Children, Protect and Build Their Future’. This theme serves as a call for the entire community to increase their concern for children’s lives, while ensuring that every child obtains their rights fully.
