Mari to visit Egypt to boost trade ties
JAKARTA: Egypt and Indonesia will have their fourth session of the Joint Ministerial Commission for Economic and Technical Cooperation meeting in Cairo next month, Egyptian Ambassador to Indonesia Mohamed E. Taha said in Jakarta.
"This meeting's main aim is to boost bilateral economic relations between the two countries. And it will be held just 40 days after the Second Meeting of Bilateral Consultations held in Cairo recently (May 9 and May 10)," Taha told The Jakarta Post.
The first meeting of bilateral consultations was held in Bali on July 19 and July 20, 2004.
Indonesian Minister of Trade Mari Elka Pangestu will attend next month's meeting -- which will be held on June 18 and June 19 -- in Cairo, Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Director General for Asia Pacific and African Affairs Herijanto Soeprapto told the Harian Ekonomi Neraca recently.
Mari will meet Egyptian Minister of Industry and International Trade Rasheed Mohamed Rasheed to discuss bilateral trade.
