Mardiono Urges PPP Members to Support Prabowo's National Welfare Programs

Muhamad Mardiono, Chairman of the United Development Party (PPP), has called on all party members to support President Prabowo Subianto. Mardiono stated that Prabowo is deeply committed to dedicating his life to accelerating national welfare through the management of Indonesia’s natural resources. ‘President Prabowo has devoted his remaining years to swiftly improving the people’s welfare. Therefore, there is no reason for the public not to support him,’ he said. The remarks were made during the opening of the PPP Banten Regional Congress in Serang on Monday, 25 May 2026, where Mardiono also serves as the President’s Special Envoy for Food Security. He assessed that the current government is introducing various breakthroughs to enhance societal welfare. Mardiono emphasised the importance of adhering to constitutional mandates, particularly Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution, which stipulates that Indonesia’s natural resources must be controlled by the state and utilised for the maximum prosperity of the people. ‘Let us return to the constitution. Let us collectively support government policies,’ he added. During the same event, Mardiono reminded that a great nation is one that does not forget its history. He asserted that PPP politicians must embody a spirit of revival and avoid remaining trapped in a colonial mentality.
