Mardiono Urges All Elements of the Nation to Uphold Unity and Pray for World Peace
Bangkalan, VIVA – Muhamad Mardiono, the President’s Special Envoy for Food Security, used a Ramadhan Safari to deliver state messages to the public. He delivered these messages during a Ramadhan Safari at Pondok Pesantren Al-Ibrohimy Galis in Bangkalan, Madura, on Wednesday 4 March 2026. Mardiono called on all elements of the nation to continue to join hands and preserve unity. He emphasised that Indonesia has a very large spiritual capital, as the majority of its population is Muslim and the country has the world’s largest Muslim population. ‘Let us join hands, let us be united. This includes ulama with umaro and all elements of the nation; let us offer prayers to bring about world peace,’ said Mardiono. In addition, Mardiono invited the public and scholars to jointly support the government’s strategic programmes under President Prabowo Subianto, which are a priority for the people’s lives. From eradicating corruption, strengthening food resilience, energy resilience, to other development programmes. ‘This Ramadhan Safari I am conducting as the president’s special envoy to convey state messages, both relating to global political dynamics and to domestic issues,’ Mardiono said. Meanwhile, KH Ibrohim Muchlis, the caretaker of Al-Ibrohimy Galis Pesantren, expressed appreciation for Mardiono’s visit. ‘Alhamdulillah, his arrival provides explanations for us. Hopefully, with our prayers, God willing, Indonesia remains safe and serene, even though the world situation is not good at present,’ he said. The Ramadhan Safari served as both a means of fostering ties and a vehicle for delivering messages of unity, national stability, and support for the government’s strategic agendas to the pesantren community and regional figures. In addition to visiting the Pesantren, Mardiono also paid his respects at the tomb of Syaikhona Kholil Bangkalan.
