Mardiono: PPP Branch Congress Serves as Initial Gateway to Strengthen Structure Down to the Grassroots

The implementation of branch congresses is not merely an internal party agenda but an important part of fulfilling the verification requirements for political parties participating in elections. Bandarlampung (ANTARA) - General Chairman of the United Development Party (PPP) Muhammad Mardiono emphasised that the branch congress (muscab) serves as one of the initial gateways to ensure the solidity of the party structure down to the grassroots level. “The implementation of muscab is not merely an internal party agenda but an important part of fulfilling the verification requirements for political parties participating in elections,” Mardiono said in Bandarlampung on Monday. He stressed that all party structures must not overlook this stage, given that every political party has the goal of participating in electoral contests. “Therefore, all requirements must be prepared from the outset, including through muscab that have been held in several regions, one of which is Lampung,” he stated. According to him, PPP still has more than three years to compile a well-thought-out political strategy. Therefore, tiered consolidation is deemed important to increase the party’s readiness and electoral performance. “With early mitigation and tiered consolidation, we are optimistic about improving electoral performance,” he said. “Insya Allah, we will carry out mitigation from the outset. If all structures are filled and solid, we can test the readiness of cadres to face elections. Lampung itself has great potential and is a PPP stronghold,” Mardiono stated. “At minimum, there should be no empty seats. PPP must be able to represent the ummah,” he added.
