Mardiono Optimistic PPP NTB Will Break Into Top Two in 2029 Election

United Development Party (PPP) Chairman Muhamad Mardiono inaugurated the party’s Provincial Executive Board (DPW) and Branch Executive Boards (DPC) across West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province in Mataram, NTB, on Saturday, 4 July 2026. The event carried the theme ‘Weaving Devotion: Towards the Glory of PPP NTB’. According to Mardiono, this consolidation marks a crucial moment to strengthen the party structure whilst preparing strategic steps for upcoming political agendas, particularly the verification of political party participants for the 2029 General Election. ‘Alhamdulillah, the entire series of events has been carried out well. I extend my utmost appreciation to all PPP cadres in NTB who continue to show a spirit of togetherness and commitment to growing the party,’ said Mardiono. Mardiono explained that the PPP NTB DPW was one of the regions that moved swiftly after the Party Congress by holding a Regional Conference (Muswil), followed by Branch Conferences (Muscab) in all regencies and cities. Furthermore, consolidation will continue down to the sub-district level through Sub-Branch Conferences (Musancab) as part of strengthening the organisation down to the grassroots. Mardiono considers structural strengthening to be the main foundation for increasing PPP’s electability and vote share in the upcoming elections. ‘We see that there are still votes scattered and not yet optimal. This serves as evaluation material so that in the future we can achieve a more even distribution of votes,’ Mardiono said. Facing the 2029 General Election, Mardiono is optimistic that PPP NTB can improve its position in the regional political landscape. PPP currently ranks in the top four, and Mardiono hopes all cadres will work harder to move up the rankings, even competing for a top-two position. ‘If we can rise to first or second place, that would certainly be excellent. At a minimum, we must go up one level. Most importantly, all electoral districts must experience an increase in votes. God willing, electoral districts that currently do not have seats can be won by us in the future,’ he stated.
