Mardiono: Caring for Children in Need as an Effort to Build a Strong Generation
Jakarta, VIVA – Presidential Special Envoy for Food Security, Muhamad Mardiono, attended an iftar gathering for 10,000 orphans organised by the Rumah Yatim Foundation at Senayan City, Jakarta, on Friday 6 March 2026. This took place during the holy month of Ramadan, a time to strengthen care for others and extend support to fellow citizens. In the occasion, Mardiono expressed his highest appreciation and gratitude to all parties who had collaborated to organise the event. According to Mardiono, the gathering of thousands of orphans serves as a model for society of the importance of social care and the spirit of togetherness. “This shows that through togetherness and collaboration, we can bring happiness to our children, especially those who may have limitations and require greater attention from all of us,” Mardiono said. The man who serves as the chairman of the DPP Partai Persatuan Pembangunan (PPP) regards the synergy between social organisations, the business world, and the public in this activity as a form of care worthy of appreciation and a source of collective pride. Mardiono also conveyed that the government, particularly the Office for Food Security under the UKP, remains open to continued support and collaboration with various parties, including providing education and guidance to children under the care of social organisations. “Children are the nation’s next generation. We must continue to provide motivation and encouragement so that they can reach their highest aspirations,” he said. He also hopes such activities can continue in line with the message of President Prabowo Subianto. Because this is part of a joint effort to build a strong generation towards Indonesia Emas 2045. “Care for children, especially those needing attention and support, is part of a joint endeavour in building a strong, empowered generation ready to embrace the vision of Indonesia Emas 2045,” Mardiono concluded.
