Mardani Ali Sera of PKS Urges Government to Condemn US–Israel Attack on Iran
Member of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Body (BKSAP) of the Indonesian DPR RI, Mardani Ali Sera, has urged the Prabowo Subianto administration to take a firm stance on the attack by Israel and the United States on Iran. He called on the government to condemn the actions of the United States and Israel.
“The actions of Israel and America are despicable. They are attacking a sovereign state, even in the middle of negotiations,” Mardani said when contacted on Wednesday, 4 March 2026.
The PKS’ Head of Campaigns and Political Marketing (Bappilu) said the Prabowo government should condemn the Israel and US attacks. According to him, the actions of the two countries violate international norms and law.
‘The government must take a firm stance condemning this attack as a violation of international norms and law,’ he said.
Nevertheless, Mardani said Indonesia’s presence in the Board of Peace (BoP) established by US President Donald Trump should be expanded. He said BoP has an agenda to help the Palestinian people.
‘Indonesia’s presence in BoP has, from the outset, been intended to help the Palestinian people. To date, the BoP is still in a consolidation phase,’ he said.
‘If it remains in BoP, the President and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs must continue to monitor BoP so that it can truly help the Palestinian people and, ultimately, realise Palestinian independence,’ he added.
Indonesia Remains in BoP
NasDem chairman Surya Paloh revealed that Indonesia’s participation in the Board of Peace (BoP) was also discussed in a national discourse held by President Prabowo Subianto. In the forum, Prabowo explained the reasons for joining the Peace Council formed by US President Donald Trump.
‘As explained earlier, there are a number of strategic ideas behind why Indonesia took a position as a member of the BoP,’ Paloh said after a meeting at the Presidential Palace complex, Jakarta, on Tuesday, 3 March.
