The appeal hearing of Marcella Santoso was held at the Jakarta High Court, Cempaka Putih, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (12/5/2026). This appeal case was presided over by Judge Joni, with Budi Susilo and Bragung Iswanto as members.

“Sentencing the Defendant to 15 years of imprisonment and a fine of Rp 600 million, with the provision that if the fine is not paid, the defendant’s assets will be confiscated and auctioned by the prosecutor to pay the fine, and if it is not sufficient, it will be replaced with 150 days of imprisonment,” reads the verdict of the appeal, as seen on the Supreme Court’s Decision Directory page.

Restitution Increased

Marcella was also ordered to pay restitution of Rp 21,602,138,412 (21.6 billion) or 7 years of imprisonment. This amount is higher than the initial ruling, which only required Marcella to pay Rp 16.2 billion in restitution.

“Sentencing the Defendant to pay restitution of Rp 21,602,138,412,” said the judge.

The appeal judge stated that Marcella was proven guilty of committing the crime of bribery and money laundering together, as in the first alternative charge and the second alternative charge.

“Determining that the period of detention that the defendant has served will be fully deducted from the imposed sentence,” said the judge.

In the trial held at the Jakarta Corruption Court on Tuesday (3/3), the judge sentenced Marcella to 14 years in prison, Rp 600 million or 150 days of imprisonment, and Rp 16,250,000,000 (16.2 billion) in restitution or 6 years of imprisonment.
