Marcell Siahaan Releases Religious Song 'Menuju Cahaya', Exploring the Theme of Tazkiyatun Nafs
Singer Marcell Siahaan has released his second religious song, entitled ‘Menuju Cahaya’. This work is a profound reflection on the inner transformation of a person, letting go of ego and learning to be humble.
The song captures the turning point in life when a person realizes that they are not the center of everything and begins to move towards something greater.
“Self-purification is a process that should be celebrated by anyone, anywhere, and at any time,” said Marcell, as quoted from the Antara website, Thursday (26/2).
The main inspiration for this song comes from the concept of Tazkiyatun Nafs or purification of the soul. This concept, which describes the purification of the soul, is in line with the message in the Quran in Surah Asy-Syams (91) verses 9-10 and Surah Al-A’la (87) verse 14, which both emphasize that true success does not come from external recognition, but from the courage to cleanse the inner self.
The meaning of “Light” in this song is not interpreted as a symbol of personal success or instant enlightenment, but rather explains the goal as something to be approached, not owned.
The meaning is inspired by the depiction of Divine Light in Surah An-Nur verse 35, so the lyrics do not highlight the ego, but emphasize the process of taking a journey.
In terms of arrangement, Marcell chose a minimalist and repetitive path. The repetitive lyrical pattern is deliberately designed so that this song feels like a wirid or prayer that is recited continuously. This symbolizes that the purification of the soul is a long journey that does not happen overnight.
Even though he still maintains his distinctive vocal character, Marcell adds electronic elements to give a fresh color to his musical identity this time. (Nas/P-3)
The winner of the 2023 AMI Awards, Amora Lemos, welcomes Ramadan 1447 H by releasing a religious project entitled “Medley Sholawat” and appearing gracefully during the first Tarawih prayer in Jakarta.
The single Rejeki Jalur Langit is the result of a collaboration between Bonzor, Ustaz Derry Sulaiman, and Dodi Kangen Band.
Inspired by personal experiences and self-reflection, Maulana Ardiansyah’s religious song serves as a reminder for those who sometimes neglect to perform prayers.
The latest song by Vagetoz, entitled Manusia Berhati Mulia, contains praise for the Prophet Muhammad SAW.
The song tells the story of a person’s awareness of the weakness of their faith and regret for the sins that have been committed, as well as a request for forgiveness from God.
