Maqdisy Heroes Long March 02 Held to Foster Solidarity with Palestine
The Maqdisy Heroes Long March 02 was held at Lapangan Banteng, Jakarta, to foster remembrance and humanitarian concern for Palestine. Initiated by the Wasilah Foundation (Wadah Silaturahmi Ummat), the event saw around 150 participants, including children, teenagers, and adults, marching to advocate for Palestinian independence.
Annisa Theresia, the organiser, emphasised that the movement is essential to voice opposition against the ongoing genocide and occupation. She noted that such actions align with the Indonesian constitution, which mandates the eradication of colonialism from the face of the earth. The event served as a precursor to the Maqdisy Talent Hunt 1448 H, a programme designed to cultivate resilience and literacy regarding Baitul Maqdis among youth aged 5 to 19.
The march, themed ‘Remembering the Nakba and Learning from Gaza that Never Gives Up’, highlighted the historical significance of the 1948 Nakba, which resulted in the displacement of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians. The participants, divided into groups led by previous talent hunt winners, distributed stickers and chanted slogans to engage the public. The event also featured various influencers and activists, including digital preachers and human rights advocates, all united in their support for Palestinian humanitarian rights.
