Many Schools Damaged in Pandeglang, DPRD to Summon Education Department
Members of the Pandeglang DPRD have responded to the numerous damaged schools in Pandeglang. In response, the DPRD will summon the Education Department (Disdik) of the Pandeglang Regency Government.
“We will first coordinate with the leadership, then we will summon the Education Department,” said DPRD member Erin Fabiana Ansori on Tuesday (21/4/2026).
Erin stated that every year in Pandeglang, there are always reports of school damage. According to her, this is a recurring event without serious handling from the government.
“This is not the first time; it keeps happening repeatedly, meaning development is not based on priorities, which schools should be prioritised first,” she said.
Erin assessed that the many schools experiencing damage are due to poor planning of development by the Education Department. This, she said, is indicated by the handling of SDN Cimanggu 3, which has damage in classrooms, but instead received assistance for a library building.
“The planning carried out by the Education Department is not optimal, meaning there are still good schools being built, while those with severe damage that need construction are not built,” she said.
Erin mentioned that the Education Department’s performance is currently not optimal. However, she said, at the grassroots level, Disdik has district coordinators (Kormin) who serve as operational coordinators at the district level and should be able to inventory school data.
“The Education Department is not working optimally, even though there are Kormin below who serve as coordinators at the district level,” she said, who is also a member of DPRD Commission IV.
It was previously known that the building of SDN Cimanggu 3 in Cimanggu Subdistrict, Pandeglang Regency, Banten, has experienced severe damage. Due to this condition, students have to study in the school health unit (UKS) and the library.
“There are three buildings that have severe damage, so class 4 studies in the UKS, class 5 in the library, and class 2 alternates with class 1,” said the Principal of SDN Cimanggu 3, Nunung Nurhasanah, on Tuesday (21/4).
