Many Chinese Automotive Brands Entering Global Top Ranks
BEIJING, KOMPAS.com - China’s dominance in the automotive industry on the global stage is becoming increasingly massive. China is now one of the world’s largest vehicle exporters.
Major manufacturers like GAC Group are setting ambitious targets to break into the elite ranks of top global car producers.
Chairman of GAC International, Chen Jiacai, revealed that the success of brands from the Land of the Bamboo Curtain stems from consistent quality and massive expansion.
“More Chinese brands are entering the global top 10. China has been the number one exporting country for three consecutive years. In the first three months of 2026, exports reached 2.2 million units, an increase of 56 percent,” said Chen Jiacai at the Beijing Auto Show 2026 on Friday (24/4/2026).
GAC itself, according to Chen, is demonstrating solid performance on the international competition map.
Chen emphasised that infrastructure readiness and market acceptance are the main assets for GAC to continue accelerating.
“GAC is running smoothly. For 2026, we target achieving 250,000 to 300,000 units in overseas markets,” he said.
This target is not just a number, but a reflection of the company’s long-term mission to deliver greater value for better mobility to consumers around the world.
“For years, our mission has remained unchanged: to provide great value for better mobility,” said Chen.
Chen Jiacai stressed that after entering the global phase, the company is becoming even more aggressive in market exploration and strengthening brand fundamentals.
“After we move to the global stage, we do not stop exploration,” he said.
To achieve this target, GAC has launched a comprehensive strategy encompassing all aspects of the automotive ecosystem, from products to post-sales customer experiences.
“We started three strategic campaigns last year focusing on products, networks, usage, and experiences. We hope to shape the GAC brand into one that focuses on quality,” said Chen.
