Many Are Unaware, AMD Has AI GPU Chips

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Many people are unaware that AMD has AI GPU chips that can be utilised by the market in Indonesia. “Speaking of semiconductors, this is technology owned by AMD that may already be used indirectly, from GPUs especially those commonly used in public clouds,” said Brando Lubis, Commercial Lead for Indonesia at AMD, during the Tech & Telco Forum 2026 in Jakarta on Wednesday (6/5/2026). He stated that companies like OpenAI have also adopted their technology. “OpenAI has adopted our technology and products such as client devices, up to the device level itself, which we are developing,” he said. According to him, this is one of the important aspects for the Indonesian market in competing in AI technology development. He explained that the current Indonesian market is at stage 2, where there are still many great opportunities to reach level 5. “We are optimistic, meaning the Indonesian market is still at the entry level, with a very large market,” he concluded.
