Manus Releases My Computer Feature, an AI Agent that can Manage PC Files Automatically
Manus AI, a Chinese artificial intelligence company that has relocated to Singapore, has released a new feature called “My Computer.” This feature enables AI agents to work directly on users’ computers automatically.
Through My Computer, Manus is no longer limited to cloud environments. The feature can bridge AI usage between cloud and local devices.
The My Computer feature from Manus is now officially available through the Manus Desktop application and can be used on macOS and Windows devices.
This feature is designed for various user groups, ranging from professionals and content creators to general users who typically rely on local computing for their daily activities.
Via the Manus Desktop application, the AI agent executes command-line interface (CLI) instructions directly in the user’s computer terminal. Users simply type a command, and Manus executes it according to the instruction.
In this way, users can ask Manus to, for example, read, analyse, and edit files, or run and control local applications on their devices.
This command-line-based approach also enables various forms of automation, such as file management or the execution of far more complex tasks, directly on the computer.
The arrival of My Computer also opens up various use-case scenarios. Users can, for example, ask the AI agent to manage files on their computer devices.
From organising large numbers of files, renaming documents in bulk, or arranging them into specific folders, everything can be done automatically.
For example, My Computer can help users who have thousands of unorganised photos in a single folder, such as photos of flower bouquets, plants, food, or tourist destinations.
When users want to organise all those photos, they simply give a command such as “organise my flower bouquet photos.” Manus will then scan all the files, recognise the contents of each image, create categories, and arrange them into subfolders automatically.
In another example, Manus is said to be capable of creating an application for real-time meeting translation on a Mac device. The entire process is carried out through the terminal and in a short timeframe.
