Jakarta (ANTARA) - Manulife Wealth & Asset Management has completed the acquisition process of PT Schroder Investment Management Indonesia (Schroders Indonesia) through PT Manulife Aset Manajemen Indonesia (MAMI).

Chief Executive Officer of Wealth and Asset Management Asia at Manulife, Fabio Fontainha, stated that all transaction requirements have been fulfilled, including approval from the Financial Services Authority (OJK).

“We are proud to mark the official joining of Schroders Indonesia with Manulife Wealth & Asset Management,” said Fabio in his statement in Jakarta on Wednesday.

He explained that the completion of the transaction marks the start of a structured integration process between MAMI and Schroders Indonesia.

During the integration period, Manulife Wealth & Asset Management will continue to operate in Indonesia through MAMI and Schroders Indonesia in parallel, maintaining their respective structures while carrying out the merger process gradually.

Clients, partners, and employees will receive regular notifications regarding changes to branding, products, and operational enhancements to ensure a smooth transition.

Fabio added that the completion of the acquisition reflects the company’s long-term commitment in Indonesia and strengthens MAMI’s position as one of the largest investment managers in the country.

“By combining the capabilities of two leading investment managers, we are building a stronger platform with greater scale, higher innovation capacity, and global insights to expand our investment solutions and services,” he said.

Meanwhile, CEO & President Director of Manulife Aset Manajemen Indonesia, Afifa, described the acquisition as an important milestone for both organisations.

According to her, this step is not just a transaction but the beginning of a new chapter to expand the company’s impact, especially as MAMI enters its 30th year.

“Combining the talent and expertise of MAMI and Schroders Indonesia enhances our ability to deliver high-quality investment solutions and strengthens our leadership in Indonesia’s continuously growing investment management industry,” she said.

On the same occasion, CEO & President Director of Schroders Indonesia, Michael T. Tjoajadi, stated that his company has built a reputation as a client-focused investment manager for more than three decades.

Joining MAMI, according to him, is a strategic step to strengthen the company’s capabilities with broader resources.

“We are ready to contribute through our expertise in this large organisation with a high reputation,” said Michael.
