Manulife Wealth & Asset Management has announced that it has completed the transaction to acquire PT Schroder Investment Management Indonesia (Schroders Indonesia) through PT Manulife Aset Manajemen Indonesia.

In a press release, the company announced that all closing conditions have been met, including obtaining approval from the Financial Services Authority (OJK).

The completion of this transaction marks the beginning of a structured integration process between MAMI and Schroders Indonesia. During the integration period, Manulife Wealth & Asset Management will operate in Indonesia through MAMI and Schroders Indonesia in parallel, maintaining their respective structures while implementing the merger processes gradually. Clients, partners, and employees will receive periodic notifications regarding branding, product changes, and operational enhancements to ensure clarity and continuity throughout the transition process.

“We are proud to mark the official joining of Schroders Indonesia to Manulife Wealth & Asset Management,” said Fabio Fontainha, Chief Executive Officer, Wealth and Asset Management, Asia, Manulife, in its official statement on Wednesday (1/4/2026).

According to him, the merger of the capabilities of these two investment managers is Manulife’s effort to build a stronger platform ready to face the future with greater scale, higher innovation capacity, and global insights to expand the range of investment solutions and services.

“This step strengthens our growth foundation and positions us to face market dynamics more clearly while remaining focused on delivering long-term value,” Fontainha added.

With the completion of this transaction, MAMI will be equipped with Schroders Indonesia’s local investment expertise and its long-term relationships with distribution partners and institutional clients. Together, the combined platform will deliver greater scale, deeper investment resources, and a broader range of solutions to provide attractive long-term results across various market cycles.

Michael T. Tjoajadi, CEO & President Director of Schroders Indonesia, added that joining MAMI is an important chapter for them, while maintaining strengths and culture, as well as providing access to broader resources, deeper capabilities, and new growth opportunities.

“We are ready to contribute through our expertise in this large organisation with a high reputation,” said Michael.

The transaction value of this acquisition has not been disclosed to the public.
