Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Asuransi Jiwa Manulife Indonesia and PT Bank Danamon Indonesia Tbk have introduced a new endowment insurance product named Proteksi Prima Fleksi Ekstra (PPFE). The product aims to provide customers with guaranteed benefits alongside the flexibility to access policy benefits early, subject to terms and conditions.

Manulife Indonesia’s Chief Bancassurance Officer, Kah Jing Lee, noted that many individuals are at a life stage where they bear significant responsibilities, both for their families and their parents, while also needing to balance current family needs with long-term financial planning. “Through PPFE, we aim to help customers build better financial preparedness through guaranteed benefits in accordance with the policy terms and conditions, as well as flexibility that can adapt to ever-changing needs,” Lee stated in Jakarta on Friday.

Citing the Manulife Asia Care Survey 2026, Lee highlighted that 65 percent of respondents defined financial freedom as not being a burden to others. However, the survey also found that 68 percent still provide financial support to family members, allocating an average of 38 percent of their monthly income to family needs. Consequently, 69 percent of respondents said these responsibilities affect their ability to achieve long-term financial independence. This challenge is particularly acute for the productive age group, especially those aged 25-34, who must balance current family needs with future financial goals.

In response to these evolving needs, Manulife Indonesia and Danamon developed PPFE. The product is designed to help customers protect family members while planning for medium-term financial goals. PPFE offers an “Extra Ready” concept, featuring inclusive protection without medical underwriting and providing currency options in both rupiah and US dollars. The product is available to prospective insured individuals aged 18 to 80 years, with flexible premium payment terms and a minimum annual premium of Rp24 million or US$2,400.

Ivan Jaya, Consumer Funding & Wealth Business Head at Danamon, added that financial preparedness must be supported by early planning and relevant, integrated, and easily accessible financial solutions. He noted that good financial planning not only aims to achieve future targets but also provides peace of mind when facing life’s changes. “Through PPFE, Manulife Indonesia and Danamon are presenting a solution that combines protection and flexibility, so customers can prepare for their various financial goals in a more planned manner without losing the ability to adapt to other evolving financial needs,” Ivan said.
