Manuel Neuer and Sven Ulreich to Stay with Bayern Munich for Another Year
German Bundesliga giants, Bayern Munich, have officially secured the services of their two senior goalkeepers for a longer period. Captain Manuel Neuer and his deputy, Sven Ulreich, have signed one-year contract extensions that will keep them at the Allianz Arena until June 2027.
This decision ensures stability in Die Roten’s goalkeeping sector for the next few seasons. Neuer, who has been an icon at the club since joining from Schalke 04 in 2011, admitted that he had considered many things before finally deciding to continue his journey at Säbener Straße.
“Everything is right here. With this team, we can beat anyone. I’m happy to go to Sabener Strasse every day and I perform as well as possible,” said Neuer, as quoted on the club’s official website.
The 40-year-old goalkeeper also emphasized the importance of harmony within Bayern’s goalkeeping department. According to him, healthy competition and mutual support among the goalkeepers are key to the team’s performance at the highest level.
“In our goalkeeping team, we remain united and strive to continue to raise the standards, constantly pushing each other and preparing as best as possible for the matches,” he added.
Ulreich followed Neuer’s move. The goalkeeper, who is known for his loyalty and always being ready to step in when needed, also agreed to a new contract until 2027. For Ulreich, Bayern Munich is more than just a professional club; it is a place he loves.
“We have a fantastic squad with a brilliant coaching team, and every day is a lot of fun, especially in our goalkeeping team. It’s great to see how everyone continues to develop, and I’m sure we’ll have the chance to achieve everything again next season,” said Ulreich.
With the retention of these two senior figures, Bayern Munich’s goalkeeping lineup is now even more solid. In addition to Neuer and Ulreich, the Vincent Kompany-coached club will also rely on the young talent of Jonas Urbig, who is being groomed as the third-choice goalkeeper.
