Manpower Ministry Strengthens MagangHub Ecosystem for Transparency and Effectiveness

The Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) is strengthening the quality and ecosystem of the MagangHub national internship programme for 2026, aiming for a transparent and effective scheme through improved governance and cross-sector collaboration.

Manpower Minister Yassierli stated that the effort involves ministries and institutions, regional governments, universities, and expanded partnerships with businesses and industries that have high labour absorption capacity.

“We will strengthen MagangHub’s governance through industry-based curricula, standardisation of mentor quality, and rigorous evaluation of participating companies,” said the Manpower Minister.

In addition to reinforcing governance, Kemnaker will also enhance its supervisory and guidance functions to ensure all organisers comply with applicable regulations. Yassierli assessed that this step is necessary to guarantee the protection of participants’ rights while maintaining the quality of MagangHub’s implementation.

Furthermore, the Manpower Minister stated that for the 2026 National Internship Programme, the government is also committed to expanding the distribution of programme locations and diversifying industrial sectors, so that the benefits of MagangHub can be felt more evenly by young people across all regions of Indonesia.

He also said that, as part of strengthening the programme’s quality, the scheme will be integrated with the national work competency certification system. “This integration with the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP) is necessary so that participants obtain nationally recognised competency certificates, thereby providing real added value when they enter the workforce,” said Minister Yassierli.

Meanwhile, this year’s National Internship Programme is targeted to accommodate 150,000 participants who are recent university graduates. The quota for the first batch of the 2026 National Internship Programme is 50,000 people, with registration opening from 15 to 28 July.
