Manpower Ministry: MagangHub Alumni Most Absorbed in Financial Sector

The Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) has recorded that alumni of the National Internship Programme (MagangHub) most frequently receive job offers or are absorbed into the financial sector. “Participants who received job offers by sector. We see here there is finance, wholesale trade, then manufacturing, health, accommodation. And the largest is the finance sector,” said Deputy Minister of Manpower (Wamenaker) Afriansyah Noor during a working meeting with House of Representatives Commission IX at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, Monday. Based on Kemnaker data, the financial sector absorbed 23.4 percent of alumni from the 2025 National Internship Programme participants. Meanwhile, the wholesale trade sector ranked second with 17.9 percent, followed by the manufacturing sector which absorbed 16.5 percent of alumni. Furthermore, the health and accommodation sectors were in fourth and fifth place, with percentages of 10.3 percent and 5.2 percent respectively. Overall, 30 percent of National Internship Programme alumni have been offered positions by the companies where they gained six months of work experience. “From the survey data as well, the interns we prepared, on average 30 percent of them after the internship are accepted at the company where they worked,” said Deputy Minister Afriansyah. Furthermore, 34 percent of first-batch alumni have not yet been offered a position by the company but there are indications of recruitment. The remaining 36 percent were not offered employment after the programme ended. For the implementation of the 2026 National Internship Programme, or the second batch, Afriansyah said Kemnaker is targeting 150,000 participants divided into three periods. Furthermore, Kemnaker will also focus on ensuring a more even distribution of regions and internship fields, expanding the target participants to be more inclusive, providing certification for all National Internship Programme participants, and conducting better and more comprehensive monitoring and evaluation. “The monitoring and evaluation improvements we are making include monitoring from start to finish, evaluating the quality of implementation and mentors, and tracking post-programme outcomes,” said Deputy Minister Afriansyah. Meanwhile, the participant quota for the first period of the 2026 National Internship Programme is 50,000 people, with registration opening on 15-28 July.
