Manpower Ministry expands MagangHub targets to professional education graduates
The Manpower Ministry (Kemnaker) is expanding the target participants for the 2026 National Internship Programme (MagangHub) by opening opportunities for graduates of professional education programmes, such as those in health, education, accounting, engineering, and other professions.
Director General of Vocational Training and Productivity Development (Binalavotas) at Kemnaker, Darmawansyah, stated that participants from professional education pathways can join the programme provided their professional certificate was obtained no more than two years after their diploma or bachelor’s degree graduation date.
“This policy is designed to accommodate the characteristics of professional education, which requires strengthening practical experience before fully entering the workforce,” Darmawansyah said in a statement received in Denpasar, Bali, on Thursday.
Darmawansyah also noted that Kemnaker has introduced several regulatory and technical guideline improvements to enhance the quality of the 2026 National Internship Programme’s implementation, while also providing broader benefits for both participants and host partners.
One of these improvements is granting all participants the opportunity to take a competency certification exam organised by the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP) upon completing their internship period. He added that this competency certificate is expected to add value for participants in increasing their competitiveness in the job market.
During the six-month programme, participants receive an allowance based on the District/City Minimum Wage (UMK) applicable to the host partner’s location. Additionally, participants receive BPJS Employment protection, covering the Work Accident Insurance (JKK) and Death Benefit Insurance (JKM) programmes.
To support the quality of programme implementation, Kemnaker is enhancing coordination with manpower agencies at the provincial and district/city levels. Monitoring is conducted regularly to ensure the mentoring process by mentors follows the curriculum and that host partners provide a safe, healthy work environment conducive to the participants’ learning process.
The latest technical guidelines also accommodate host partners that implement a six-day work week. The regulations cover participants’ work duration and schedules, rights to rest periods, working hour adjustments in accordance with labour regulations, as well as mechanisms for resignation or dismissal of participants along with the rights and obligations of each party.
These regulations also cover internship implementation during collective leave periods, national holidays, and other special conditions. The provisions include schedule adjustments, calculation of the internship period, implementation of learning activities during holiday periods, and fulfilment of participants’ rights so that the MagangHub programme can run more orderly, effectively, and provide optimal benefits for all parties.
Meanwhile, registration for Batch II/Year 2026 Phase 1 of the National Internship Programme remains open until 28 July 2026. Information regarding requirements, implementation stages, and registration procedures can be accessed via the official website at https://maganghub.kemnaker.go.id.
