Manpower Ministry commits to strengthening vocational training and green office implementation

The Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) is committed to strengthening the transformation of the labour sector through enhanced vocational training and the implementation of a green office concept as a foundation for a productive, modern, and sustainable bureaucracy.

Minister of Manpower Yassierli stated on Monday that vocational strengthening is continuously carried out through various strategic programmes designed to meet the needs of the business and industrial world. One such initiative is the National Internship Programme (MagangHub), which is targeted to reach 150,000 participants by 2026.

“This programme is designed to bring job seekers closer to the industry so as to minimise competency mismatches. Participants not only gain work experience and competency certificates, but also receive an allowance during the programme,” he said. He added that MagangHub has attracted the attention of various international partners as a good practice in human resource development that connects the education sector with the world of work.

In addition to expanding internship access, the Ministry is also targeting 270,000 participants for the National Vocational Training Programme throughout 2026. The implementation, he noted, is carried out transparently and inclusively, providing equal opportunities for persons with disabilities and communities in frontier, outermost, and disadvantaged (3T) regions.

Alongside strengthening vocational training, the Ministry continues to push for bureaucratic transformation through the adoption of a green office concept. Minister Yassierli explained that this step involves independent office environmental management, including energy efficiency and reducing the use of single-use plastics. Furthermore, the Ministry is gradually transitioning towards the use of renewable energy by installing solar panels within its premises. The implementation of green office standards is also supported by the preparation of a sustainability report as part of accountable organisational governance.

“Labour transformation must go hand in hand with bureaucratic transformation. Therefore, we want to build a work ecosystem that is not only productive and adaptive to change, but also environmentally friendly and sustainable,” said the Minister.
