Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) is accelerating the transformation of Vocational Training and Productivity Centres (BPVP) across Indonesia into adaptive, modern ‘mini campuses’ that deliver tangible benefits to the community.

Minister of Manpower Yassierli stated in Jakarta on Thursday that this move is part of the ministry’s efforts to strengthen human resource development in line with the needs of the labour market and industrial developments. He assessed that the mini campus concept is designed to transform BPVP from mere training venues into integrated vocational learning centres that are adaptive to labour market demands and capable of building a sustainable competency development ecosystem.

“This mini campus concept is designed so that BPVP will not only be a place for job training. In the future, BPVP will transform into an integrated vocational learning centre that is adaptive to labour market needs and self-reliant,” said Yassierli.

According to him, through the mini campus concept, BPVP is projected to become a vocational learning centre supported by modern facilities and cutting-edge technology. Consequently, graduates will not only possess technical skills but also innovation, competitiveness, and readiness to enter the workforce.

“With the support of modern facilities and infrastructure, BPVP will be able to produce a workforce that is not only skilled but also innovative, highly competitive, and ready to be absorbed by the business and industrial sectors,” he said.

Yassierli expressed optimism that this transformation will strengthen BPVP’s role in addressing future employment challenges while accelerating the provision of competent workers for various strategic industrial sectors. “I want the absorption rate of vocational training graduates from the mini campus to reach at least 80 per cent,” he stated.

To support this transformation, the Ministry of Manpower continues to expand public access to vocational training by providing tens of thousands of free certified training packages accredited by the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP), integrated within the SIAPKerja portal.

Meanwhile, Director General of Vocational Training and Productivity Development at the Ministry of Manpower, Darmawansyah, emphasised that the BPVP transformation is a crucial part of building a vocational training ecosystem that is more relevant to the needs of national economic development. According to him, BPVP must become a competency development centre that is closely aligned with industry needs, responsive to labour market changes, and provides tangible benefits to the community.

“This transformation is not just a structural change, but also a change in work methods, work orientation, and service culture,” said Darmawansyah.
