Manpower Minister: National Internship Programme Facilitates Workforce Entry into Industry
Minister of Manpower Yassierli has stated that the National Internship Programme is a government effort to facilitate graduates’ entry into the industrial sector by strengthening their competencies in line with company needs. Yassierli said the programme is one of the government’s focuses under President Prabowo Subianto’s leadership this year, aimed at preparing the workforce to enter the industrial world and boost national productivity. “And alhamdulillah, we from the Ministry of Manpower, this year the President’s focus is to prepare the workforce to enter the industrial world. This is our current focus,” said the Minister at the opening of the AI Career Boost Day 2026 Job Fair in Jakarta on Tuesday. The government has increased the National Internship Programme quota to 150,000 participants, with the government fully covering their allowances. Yassierli revealed that last year’s programme involved 100,000 participants, and approximately 30 per cent of them received job offers from the companies where they interned before the programme concluded.
