The Hoegeng Awards is a collaborative programme between detikcom and the Indonesian National Police to honour exemplary police officers. The 2026 awards featured five categories: Dedicated Police, Innovative Police, Integrity Police, Police Protecting Women and Children, and Police Serving Border and Remote Areas. The selection process began with public nominations from 27 January 2026, resulting in approximately nine thousand names being submitted before the nomination period closed on 2 April 2026. The expert panel conducted a series of meetings to select the final candidates for each category. A public test was also held from 7 to 22 May 2026, during which detikcom gathered public feedback on the candidates.
