Minister of Manpower Yassierli has affirmed the commitment to ensuring the National Internship Programme (MagangHub) remains inclusive for prospective participants, including fresh graduates with disabilities. “We also want to provide equal opportunities, because it is our duty at the Ministry of Manpower to deliver services that offer equal access for all,” Yassierli stated during a press conference in Jakarta on Thursday. He noted that for the 2025 National Internship Programme, the Ministry has opened a special quota for participants with disabilities. “Alhamdulillah, although the numbers are still limited, we want these opportunities to also be available to our university graduate siblings who are differently abled or have disabilities,” he said. Yassierli further explained that the Ministry is using an affirmative approach and cooperating with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology to identify prospective 2025 National Internship participants with disabilities. “Some are indeed affirmatively included to join the internship programme. Within the Ministry of Manpower itself, we have several interns with disabilities,” the Minister added. Beyond inclusivity in participation, Yassierli said the Ministry is also promoting a more even distribution of the National Internship programme in terms of region and field of study. “Regarding the distribution of participants in the first batch, the majority are still on Java, and more specifically in Jakarta,” he said. “Secondly, regarding the distribution of study backgrounds of the interns, we also want to provide equal opportunities,” he added. Meanwhile, the first phase of the 2026 National Internship programme is planned to commence in July with an initial target of around 50,000 participants. The programme will be implemented in stages to meet the established national target of 150,000 participants.
