Manila won't send experts to autopsy

MANILA (AFP): A Philippine diplomat said yesterday that Manila
will not send Filipino pathologists to Singapore to observe the
autopsy of a Filipina maid, whose cause of death had earlier been
questioned by her relatives.

The diplomat, requesting anonymity, said that the Foreign
Department had received a formal note from Singapore saying that
Manila was free to send its pathologists there "if the
Philippines has any lingering doubts" on cases involving Filipina
maids.

Manila had acknowledged the note but said that it would not
send Filipino experts to the autopsy of Angelina Palaming, a
Filipina maid who died after falling with her ward from the ninth
floor of her employer's apartment.
